The company Smarttia has obtained the licence to carry out the refurbishment of a building in San Andrés Street in A Coruña. With this authorisation, issued after the favourable opinion of the Pepri (Special Plan for the Protection and Integral Reform of the Old City and Pescadería) advisory committee, the construction work on this project, which has a budget of around 4 M€, can begin in the next few months.

As stated in the project presented by the company, the building will be completely refurbished to be used as a hotel, which will have a 4-star category and a total of 180 beds. It will also have a parking area and a restaurant area on the ground floor.

The plan is to completely modify the external appearance of the building to offer a more modern one. Thus, the current metal panelling will be removed, and the windows will be dismantled and replaced by other white lacquered aluminium windows, with vertical composition and sash opening, safer and with greater insulation. On the other façades of the building, the exterior joinery will be changed, and the new ones will also be white, to guarantee a harmonious architecture.

The building will incorporate new, more efficient, and environmentally friendly technologies. Thus, the hotel will have outdoor aerothermal units on the roof and on an indoor terrace. All of this with the aim of introducing the most sustainable construction mechanisms.
